Involvement of Alumni for making Academic Collaboration between KU and TUC
Mr. Robin Lal Shrestha, graduate of KU in Mechanical Engineering, batch 1998-2002, is currently doing his Masters' course in "Energy and Environmental Technology" at Telemark University College (TUC), Norway.
As a current student in TUC, he has initiated the process of international collaboration between TUC and KU, in terms of faculty and student exchange and joint research in common field of interest. Now the collaboration has been established with Faculty of Technology, TUC and KU, but this is just an initiation. He is further working for extending this collaboration with Faculties of Arts, Faculty of Health Science and Faculty of Folk Music and Culture in TUC with other Schools at KU.
Even though it is not mentioned out in the MOU, it is expected that every year a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from KU will get a chance to study Masters' course in Energy and Environmental Technology at TUC with a full scholarship. Interested graduates of KU are advised to visit website of TUC and submit application forms. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Associate Professor/HOD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, KU, and Mr. Shrestha, Student of TUC, coordinated very well for the collaboration purpose.
Since, Mr. Shrestha is a graduate of KU, he is now a member of our alumni association and therefore I being a coordinator of the association would like to take an opportunity to congrats him for his endeavor for the development of KU.
