It gives my pleasure to inform you that based on your feedback and suggestions that we have collected over the years;
graduates of Kathmandu University have now initiated the process to launch KATHMANDU UNIVERSITY ALUMNI
Association (KUAA). Since our University has already produced more than 1500 graduates and the number is growing,
the KUAA is really a good initiative to network and to contribute to the development of the university as well.
To discuss the launch and other alumni matters, 20-alumni of KU had get-together cum discussion session on April 23,
2005, at Soaltee Crown Plaza. Participants were selected based on their earlier inputs and involvement. Out of
20-participant, five were of School of Science, five-School of Management, and 10-School of Engineering.
Following were the highlights of the meet:
Formation of an ad-hoc committee. All the 20-participant of the day would be the member of the ad-hoc
committee. Committee has selected Ms. Sijan Sharma as a Coordinator and Mr. Binod Aryal as a Member Secretary;
Finalized the name as Kathmandu University Alumni Association (KUAA), thereafter referred as KUAA;
All persons who have received a degree/certificate from KU could be the member of the association including
Intermediate of Science graduates;
The vision of the association would be "To be the best Alumni Association in Nepal", the vision statement could be
finalized/changed if its member finds better alternatives (all the member of the committee will be giving inputs to make
the vision clear last by Wednesday); The final vision will come within a week;
The association should be registered within a month;
Each member should work to incorporate at least 25-additional member in a umbrella of KUAA so that the
association could organize the mass "Alumni Meet" with at least 500-Alumni Members within 6-Month.
Mr. Binod Aryal, Deputy General Manager, KIA Motors, one of the graduates of Mechanical Engineering, KU,
sponsored the expense of the day, thank you Mr. Aryal for your cooperation.

KU School of Management (KUSOM) in cooperation of its fourth-semester students (Fall 2004), has been succeed to organize a 2nd "Grand Reunion Function". on Jan 30, 2005 at Hotel Radisson, Lazimpat.
Mr. Binod K. Chaudhary, President and Managing Director, Chaudhary Group, attended the ceremony as a chief-guest. The top business houses of the country, Registrar, KU, as well as the deans of different schools were present in the event. About 350 students and graduates attended the function. Till February 2005, KUSOM has produced about 400-MBA and EMBA graduates and all of them were invited.

Kathmandu University School of
Management (KUSOM) has been succeeded for the first time to
organize an alumni event, a get-together party, on December 7,
2002, in hotel Yak & Yeti.The initiation was
taken by the final year students of KUSOM to make the event
effective and memorable. Kathmandu University already produced
about 250 students of MBA from school of management. All of
the alumni were invited for the get-together, and among them
about 60% attended that successful event, 20% were out of
country, and rest 20% have not been able to come to attend
it.

vice president of SAFTA, Mr. Padma Jyoti the chairman of Jyoti
group attended the ceremony as a chief guest.The top most business
houses of the country, Registrar of Kathmandu University as
well as deans of different schools were also present to the
event.
Outcome of the event inspired
everybody present there, and now the university would like to
organize the same kind of event very frequently with the help of its students as well as graduates.
