Kathmandu University Computer Club (KUCC) is an independent club totally operated and organized by the students of Computer Science and Engineering of Kathmandu University with the vision of “Empowering ICT” and it is also the most popular Club in Kathmandu University, diversifying into Kathmandu University Open Source Community (KUOSC) . The club was formally established on July 10, 1997 by the group of enthusiastic students.
KUCC was a student founded club that endeavored to promote IT field in Nepal. The concept of its establishment was for co-operation among students to create learning environment, help solving problems of students and even helping activities of the computer department. Since the establishment of club, it has been working as a forum to develop entrepreneurship and leadership in the students. Organizing various hardware and software training programs, conducting interactions of students with outer personalities related to IT field, co-ordination in various outdoor and indoor project exhibitions of Kathmandu University etc. were the initial objectives of establishing of KUCC.
