Dr. Deepak Prasad Subedi is an Associate Professor of Physics in Kathmandu University. He is also the Head of the Department of Natural Sciences, School of Science, Kathmandu University. His research interest is in low temperature plasma physics. His research is focused on the surface modification of polycarbonate and polyethylene by low pressure and atmospheric pressure plasmas. He has published more than 30 papers. Currently, he is working on a project for the development of dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) at atmospheric pressure suitable for water purification.(my CV)

Areas of Expertise
Deposition of thin films such as SiO2 and DLC using Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) and optical characterization of the films by Ellipsometer. Surface characterization of plasma treated polymers by contact angle measurement and subsequent calculation of surface free energy with its polar and dispersion componenets. Diagnostics of plasma using optical emission spectrometer for the estimation of rotational temperature of gas molecules and also for the estimation of electron temperature.
