Each year, application is called by Kathmandu University, School of
Science for the following programmes under the Department of Environmental
Science and Engineering
Undergraduate: Application call for 2012
The notice is being published in major dailies in the month of June/
July for both graduate and undergraduate programmes. Regular classes
will start by the month of August.
UNDERGRADUATE
PROGRAM
Bachelor in Environmental Sciences, B. Sc. Env. Sc (4 years/8 semesters)
To be eligible for applying to the program, one must meet
the following criteria:

Must have passed 12 years (10+2) of formal education.

Must have passed Higher Secondary Level Physics, Chemistry
and Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with
an average grade of 50%.
-
Must appear in the entrance examination and selection
interview.
The entrance examination and interview is highly competitive
and the successful candidates in both are eligible to get admission.
Admission Procedure
Notification for admission to all undergraduate programs offered by
the school under the department is published in major dailies and is
in the website: www.ku.edu.np in the month of June/July seeking applications
from eligible candidates. Collection of applications is followed by
an entrance examination designed to test applicants' command over mathematics,
physics, Chemistry and biology. Candidates qualifying in the entrance
examination are called for an interview. The interview is aimed at testing
individual's aptitude in the field in which one is seeking admission
and is taken by the relevant department.

Candidates with four-year Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science
or equivalent degree with minimum CGPA of 2.5 or 50 % in aggregate are
eligible for admission. Students having four-year education in any science
stream, such as Geography, Geology, Agriculture or Forestry after intermediate/+2,
or B.E. Civil/ Mechanical are also eligible.

30 months))
The candidate must have completed minimum 16 years of formal study
in relevant field.
M. Sc. Degree with 50% marks in average or a CGPA of 3 or above in 4
point scale or B standing in Grades.

DOCTORATE
PROGRAM
Ph.D. (Full time: 3-5 years Part time: 4-6 years )
The candidate must have completed minimum 17 years of formal study
in relevant field. A M. Sc. Degree with 50% marks in average or a CGPA
of 3 or above in 4 point scale or B standing in Grades. The candidate
with 16 years of formal study may also be eligible if he/she posses
a minimum requirement through relevant programme of the concerned department.
