Kathmandu University Hostel

The following are the rules that should be obeyed by each and every student staying in the hostel forwarded by the hostel management committee.

1. While taking attendance by the warden, student must be present in the place pre informed by the warden and students cant leave the hostel without informing the warden.

2. Students must stay in the room as allocated by the Hostel Administration.

3. The relation with the other hostellers should be good and friendly.

4. Hostellers are responsible for keeping their rooms and the common areas in the hostel clean and tidy at all times. Any type of work that will hamper or distort the management of hostel.

5. It is the responsibility of the hostellers to keep the Hostel Warden informed, if they intend to stay away from the Hostel, even if it is just for one night.

6.  Hostellers are expected to display acceptable forms of behavior, becoming of young gentlemen and ladies, anywhere within the Apartment Complex at all times.

7. Consumption of alcoholic drinks is not allowed in the apartments or anywhere within the Hostel Apartment compound and College.
8. Any form of smoking is not allowed in the Apartment Complex, including the staircases and all other non-smoking areas at any time.
9. No one living in the Hostel should be evolved in the Political parties or any other political gatherings
10. The behavior with the Hostel staffs and others should be respectable and loveable
11. Only the food can be cooked in the Hostel Pantry’s or in the room given by the Warden.

12. Each student must obey the rules that are listed here and also the decision given by the warden.

13. Playing Cards is not allowed in the Hostel premises.
14. Hostellers are not permitted to allow visitors of the opposite sex into their respective room at any time for any reason. All visitors are only allowed in the waiting room only.
15. Visitors are only allowed into the Hostel waiting room.
16. The Warden reserves the right to make spot checks on the apartments and the bedrooms without prior notice to the students. Warden may enter rooms as necessary in the course of his duty. However, every effort will be made to respect the privacy and dignity of the hostellers.
17. No ragging should be done to the junior students.
18. The furniture and other room arrangements should be according to the hostel rules. No one is allowed to change the settings of the room.

Rules of Disciplinary action

All the students who do not obey the rules of the hostel can be expelled by the Warden himself/herself. Also he/she can be taken some disciplinary action from the University too.

Closure Of Hostel

1. The hostel will be closed  during the winter vacation when classes are off for about 20 days.

2. The hostel will be remain closed if construction work has to be done for more than one month.

3. The hostel will be remain closed if due to any reason, the campus has to be closed for certain time.

4. If there arise some kind of emergency which cause security of students in danger, the hostel will be remain closed.
