AMES
- An
introduction:
AMES was established on August 2001. This association
has been established for a better cooperation and a better working
environment between the teachers and the students. It will also help to maintain a
good working relationship between AMES and other faculties of Kathmandu University
as well as other institutes including SOMEN (Society of mechanical
engineers in Nepal) and NEA (Nepal engineers' Association).
The members of this association consist of all the students from the mechanical engineering
branch of Kathmandu
University. AMES consists of different clubs and teams such as automobile
club, computer club, lab and project management team, workshop management
team etc. We hope that such clubs will help to create a better working
environment for both staffs and students of mechanical engineering department.
The profession of engineering is grouped into specialized disciplines that
have developed in response to societal and technical needs. While these
disciplines overlap, each has its own specific purposes and goals.
Mechanical engineering is perhaps the most broadly based, encompassing
technology areas that include applied mechanics, fluid mechanics, heat
transfer, mechanical design, instrumentation, control systems, engines and
power plants, and pollution assessment and control. Because many of its
practitioners are involved in product development, production, and
distribution, the mechanical engineering discipline has a pronounced
impact on economic activity. A strong local, regional or national economy
inevitably has access to an academic institution like Kathmandu University
producing quality mechanical engineering graduates and providing
associated research capabilities.
Conclusively, we hope to build a better relationship
between the management, staffs and the students.
