 Minimum Qualification Required:  Masters’ degree in Pharmacy with specialization in Pharmaceutical Care/ Clinical Pharmacy/ PharmD/ PharmD (Post-Baccalaureate)/ MSc. in Pharmacology (Medical) or related discipline with 1st division/or equivalent and 2 years teaching experience in the related area. 

If the division is not clear in the transcript/certificate, the candidate shall submit equivalence division certification from relevant authority. Application with unclear division or division equivalence from relevant authority may be rejected. Division recognition for unclear cases will be as per decision of the university. Degree obtained abroad should have obtained equivalence from relevant authority in Nepal.     

Requirements: Recent CV, copies of mark sheets and certificates of all academic degree qualifications/ transcripts, citizenship certificate, work and professional experience certificates (both existing and previous), and other credentials as applicable; Two recent PP size photographs should also be attached. KU Executive Council Approves the ICDRET'18

 

Following the approval from Executive Council of Kathmandu University (KU) in January 2018, School of Engineering (SOE) is expediting to organize the 5th International Conference on Developments in Renewable Energy Technology 2018 (ICDRET'18) from March 29-31, 2018 in Hotel Radisson, Kathmandu, Nepal. The technical co-sponsorship is provided by IEEE Power & Energy Society (IEEE PES). The previous events of the series were organized by United International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is planned that after this grand event in Nepal, the ICDRET series will be continued in different countries in every two-year interval.

ICDRET'18 is aimed at providing a cutting-edged scholarly forum for researchers, engineers, industries, stakeholders and students alike to share their state-of-the-art research and development works, new ideas and breakthroughs in all areas of Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs). It will also serve as the platform for national and international public and private organization to show-case their programs for the promotion of renewable energy technologies in general society. One of the main goals of the Conference is to announce Nepali Year 2075, which starts from April 13, 2018: a Renewable Energy Year 2075. It will also provide the road-map to promote RETs in the Federal Structure of Nepal.

The Conference will be addressed by distinguished personalities, key-note speakers and invited speakers. There will be many extensive side events and plenary sessions on top of the technical sessions during the two and a half day events. Four parallel sessions will be conducted, where experts from six continents will be presenting their research findings.

With the responsibility to lead the event, SOE has already set up a Local Organizing Committee (LOC) including its faculty members and administrative staffs, in partnership with National Planning Commission, Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, University Grant Commission Nepal, Institute of Engineering of Tribhuwan University, Renewable Energy Confederation Nepal, Loughborough University, UK, and United International University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The preparation of the conference is well in advance. There are more than a hundred papers have been submitted. It is expected to have around three hundred participants. A number of other national and international organizations have also shown willingness to support us as sponsors. The pre-conference event will be organized on 23 February 2018 and is financially supported by Energized Nepal. The LOC is chaired by Prof. Dr. Ramesh Kumar Maskey, co-chaired by Assoc. Prof. Brijesh Adhikari and the General Secretary is Asst. Prof. Dr. Anup Thapa. There are nine subcommittees for planning and implementation of the event.

With reference to the MOU between Kathmandu University (KU) and NEA Engineering Company (NEC, http://neaec.com.np/), signed on 2074-07-30, and the decision of NEA Engineering Company dated 2074-09-03, NEC has enter the framework of agreement with Kathmandu University to provide job placement at NEC.

 

Beginning with Academic Year 2074, the top three performers amongst the fresh graduates from KU, from the following three departments will be offered the position of Engineer starting with one year job contract at NEC in the following manner:

 

a.    Civil Engineering Department -  Civil and Hydropower Engineer – 1 (one)

b.    Electrical Engineering Department -  Electrical Engineer – 1 (one)

c.    Mechanical Engineering Department - Mechanical Engineer – 1 (one)

 

Hereby, all the interested candidates among the toppers in the respective departments are invited to submit an application for the selection purpose. Application should include the following documents:

MoU for KUIRDP Signed by MoF and Government of Korea

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Government of Korea, and Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal, for launching Kathmandu University Integrated Rural Development Project (KUIRDP).
 
The Government of Korea will provide 10 million US dollar (approximately Rs 1.02 billion) grant assistance to the Project with the objective to contribute in integrated rural development of Nepal by strengthening research and development capacity of Kathmandu University (KU), and to promote technology innovation for improving quality of life and income status of people  of rural communities in Nepal. 

At a program organized at the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Shankar Prasad Adhikari, Finance Secretary, and His Excellency Park Young-sik, Ambassador of Korea to Nepal, signed the MoU. 

The implementing agencies of the Project are Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Nepal, and Kathmandu University. The duration of the Project will be five years from 2018 to 2023.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Visits KU and DH

His Excellencey Mr. Manjeev Singh Puri, Indian Ambassador to Nepal, visited Kathmandu University and Dhulkhel Hospital on the cordial invitation of Prof. Dr. Ram Kantha Makaju Shrestha, the Vice Chancellor.

A brief interaction meeting was held with His Excellency at the Senate Hall, where various past, ongoing and future supports from the Embassy of India and collaborations between Kathmandu University and higher education institutions of India were highlighted.

The interaction was attended by KU officials including the Registrar, Deans and Associate Deans of various Schools of KU, Heads and Coordinators of different Departments and other senior faculties and staffs.

Follwoing the interaction, His Excellency Mr. Puri also took an observation tour of Dhulikhel Hospital.

The University extends sincere gratitude to His Excellency for his gracious visit and interaction with the officials.
