It is notified that Mr. Dipendra Jee Mandal, an MS by Research candidate in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Engineering, Kathmandu University, will have his MS by Research Thesis defense on following time, date and venue.

Thesis Title: Quality Analysis of Video Coding for Transmission over IP Cloud

Kathmandu University, in partnership with CERN (European Laboratory for Particle Physics), organized the first South Asian High Energy Physics Instrumentation Workshop on Detector Technology and Applications, durirng 20-21 June 2017.

The workshop held at KU's CV Raman Auditorium brought together scientists from SAARC nations and Mauritius to begin discussions toward setting up a dedicated facility for high energy physics in the region.....[more detail click here ]

DoCSE organized 3-Day Workshop on Understanding Plagiarism

Department of Computer Science and Engineering (DoCSE), School of Engineering, Kathmandu University organized “3-Day workshop on Understanding Plagiarism” (http://ku.edu.np/cse/workshop/2017/plagiarism/). The workshop was held from 21 to 23 June 2017. There were 30 participants (master students, PhD students and faculties) from different departments.  Among them, one participant was from Pokhara University and another one from Tribhuwan University.

 

 

Dr. Manish Pokharel, Head of Department, welcomed all the participants. Mr. Bhim Dhoj Shrestha, Head of Library Science and Information System, TU, and Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma (Director of Research Development & Consultancy, KU) were the guest speakers.

The main objective of the workshop was to make stakeholders aware about plagiarism. HoDs, coordinators from different Departments, and Research Committee members actively participated during the special discussion session. Prof. Dr. Bhupendra Bimal Chettri (Dean, School of Engineering) concluded the program with final remarks.

Dr. Laxman Gnawali (Associate Professor, SoEd), Dr. Biraj Singh Thapa (Assistant Professor, DoME), Dr. Anup Jung Thapa (Lecturer, DoEEE), Mr. Sushil Shrestha (Assistant Professor, DoCSE), Mr. Nawaraj Shrestha (Assistant Professor, DCGE) and Mr. Manoj Shakya (Assistant Professor, DoCSE) were the resource persons of this workshop.

For those applicants who didn't attend the project application assistance seminar on 19th June and are unaware about the Application submission Method.

Under the Application Procedure in Brief Clause (Number H) at page 5 of Project Application Call document it is stated to provide the hard copy of the application documents.

We now want to inform that hard copy of the application documents is not needed to submit. Applicants may submit the soft copy(word/pdf) of the application documents through email (energizenepal@ku.edu.np)

The Research, Development & Consultancy Directorate is pleased to announce launching of Research Report Part 1 in near future that includes On- going research and development activities in Kathmandu University and available research facilities, followed by Part 2 that includes Major Grants, Awards and Achievements, Research Supporting Units, and Research Outputs of different Departments and Research Centres.

Part 1 will include mostly photos taken from your laboratories, workshops with short description of the work undertaken. All researchers are requested to send available photos with source and if possible the RDC Registration number of your on-going research grants (this is the RDC Ref. No. of the PI).

     Call for EOI for Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Lighting Measurement Equipment

 

Kathmandu University, Department of Electrical and Electronics, Lighting Laboratory is procuring lighting measurement and luminaire testing equipment. The procurement is for ERASMUS+ ELNAB project and has been co-funded by ERASMUS+ program of European Union.

In this regard, we would like to call expression of interest (EOI) from local / international companies for the supply, installing and commissioning of equipment with best available resources and technology as per attached BoQ.

Bidder should be either manufacturer or authorized distributor of the equipment to be supplied.

All the components should comply all technical specifications. Deviations will not be considered for the evaluation process.

All interested applicants should submit detail technical specifications and financial proposal along with EOI to central campus Dhulikhel by 25-June-2017.

Additional information may be obtained from ERASMUS+ ELNAB project office.
