Announcement: Third National Symposium on Nanotechnology and Material Processing (SNMP) -- 2017

We are delighted make an announcement that the dept. Chem. Science & Chem. Eng., School of Engineering; Kathmandu University, in collaboration with Tribhuvan University, is going to organize 3rd national “Symposium on Nanotechnology and Material Processing (SNMP)-2017”. Therefore, we would, like to request to present your valuable research contribution in the event and make the program successful. Graduate students are also encouraged to present their work as poster or attend as a participant and take advantage of such scientific meeting. The date, time and venue arranged are:

Date: May 4th –5th 2017 (Thursday and Friday; Baisakh 21st and 22nd, 2074 BS)

Dr. Chhatra Sharma of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering with his colleagues from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Lappeenranta University of Technology published a research article on peer-reviewed international journal. The title of the article is "Assessment of water quality and health risks for toxic trace elements in urban Phewa and remote Gosainkunda Lakes, Nepal" which is published in "Human and Ecological Risk Assessment: An International Journal.

The article researches on the Himalayan Lakes which are under threat of elemental pollutants from atmospheric long range transport and rapid urbanization in the South Asian regions. The focus of the article is on health risk assessment of potentially toxic trace elements and mercury on the two Himalayan lakes, Gosainkunda and Phewa.

Main Programs

Performances: The Mind camp provides the platform for special performances.

Mind Recreation: Mind recreation is a set of activities deigned to creatively encourage the participants to think about the lecture practically to understand the lecture concepts it aids them to permanently imprint the message delivered.

Mind Lecture: Mind Lectures is to strengthen the hearts of students who fall easy prey to various addictions, depression and suicidal tendencies although they live in comfortable circumstances. Through these lectures many students learn about true self- control that arises from the change of the heart.

RDC re-announces grants for one faculty under Erasmus + for Mobility to the University of Salzburg, Austria.

Kathmandu University Directorate of Research, Development and Consultancy (RDC) re-announces grants to faculty of Kathmandu University with proven ability in the application and teaching of GIS based software tools in accordance with the European commission’s Erasmus + program to the University of Salzburg in Austria, a mobility program for a period of one month, where the selected faculty shall be required to make presentations on his/her field of GIS application at the University of Salzburg to the Graduate level students.

The deadlines for submission of application is 30 March 2017 3.30 pm.

The Directorate of RDC extends sincere appreciation to those who have submitted application earlier and also notifies herewith to ignore this re-announcement.

Further to the information of all concerned, Mr.Subash Ghimirae, Department of Civil and Geometics Engineering is selected for the grants in the capacity of PhD scholar. Directorate of RDC takes pleasure in congratulating him and advised to contact Dr. Rabindra Bista, Coordinator of Erasmus Program at Erasmus Unit in RDC Directorate Block 14.
