Dr. Hari Prasad Neopane, Member Secretary and Mr. Nirmal Acharya, Research Associate, TTL participated in Power Summit 2016 in 15- 16 December, 2016 at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Kathmandu. The event was organized by Independent Power Producers' Association Nepal (IPPAN), under the patronage of Ministry of Energy (MoEN), Government of Nepal.
The event highlighted every facet of 10,000 MW plan in 10 years and find a way out to consolidate those plans from each sector. The coverage of the program included discussions on 10,000 MW in 10 years; Energy Security- The Pre-requisite of National Security; Electricity demand estimation; Financing hydropower project- Domestic and International capital; Market for 10,000 MW; Impact of climate change and natural disaster on hydropower; Developing sustainable hydropower; Expediting private sector projects; Showcase project on Budhigandaki Storage HEP, Upper Trishuli 1 and Upper Tamakoshi project. The two day programme was attended by the representatives from various organizations as GoN/MoEN, NEA, Embassies (Australian, Bangladesh, China, India, Norway, UK, USA), World Bank, IFC, ADB, FNCCI, CNI, HIDCL, USAID, MCC etc.
