Turbine Testing Lab [TTL] marked its fourth anniversary on November 26, 2015, by organizing a program at TTL Auditorium. The program was attended by Kathmandu University Registrar, Deans and Associate Deans of respected Schools, Professors, Associate and Assistant Professors, Lecturers, Researchers and Staffs. The program started with welcome speech of Dr. Hari Prasad Neopane, Associate Professor and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering. In the speech, Dr. Neopane welcomed all the distinguished guests and discussed the journey of the department and its recent achievements. Mr. Binaya Baidar, Research Fellow at TTL emphasized the major research activities and achievements of the lab this year. He also highlighted the recent and ongoing activities of the lab. Prof. Ole Gunnar Dahlhaug recalled the time when he came to KU back in 2003 with the view of developing academic and research activities related to hydropower and the collaboration between NTNU and KU for the establishment of TTL. Dr. Bhola Thapa opined that the research and academic excellence achieved by the department and TTL must be translated to society and industry where the real engineering meets its mark. The speech was followed by the official release of Fourth Anniversary Issue Magazine of TTL by Prof. Ole Gunnar Dahlhaug, Mr. Bård Aslak Brandåstrø from Norwegian University of Science & Technology (NTNU) Norway, and Mr. Fredrik Warring from Research Council of Norway. This release was also accompanied by the inauguration release of the second Project Compendium of Mechanical Engineering Department, Aviyanta 2015 by Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa (Dean SOE and Registrar, KU) and Dr. Petter Stoa (Vice-President, SINTEF Energy and SC of RenewableNepal). The event was complemented by the MED Project Exhibition which was held outside the Auditorium, which consisted of all the undergraduate projects of the department.
