Research fellow from TTL participated in The International Workshop on Sediment Sensitive Operations in Hydropower Systems

Mr. Nirmal Acharya, Research Fellow from Turbine Testing Lab participated in The International Workshop on Sediment Sensitive Operations in Hydropower Systems organized jointly by International Centre for Hydropower (ICH), Trondheim, Norway and Hydro Lab Pvt. Ltd., Lalitpur, Nepal in co-operation with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Kathmandu from 5- 11 April, 2016. The workshop offered the participants with better insight in the sediment sensitive operation and mitigation of sediment problems in the hydropower systems, within the framework of lectures, laboratory demonstrations and field excursions. Senior professionals involved with sediment management in Run- of- River type projects shared their experiences which are expected to be beneficial in the research purposes and also in the operation and maintenance of hydropower systems in sediment- laden rivers. Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa, Chairman, TTL delivered the lecture on “Research and Development on Sediment Sensitive Design of Turbines” during the workshop.
