Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Kathmandu University, and George Mason University in Virginia, U.S.A.

Copies of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by Kathmandu University (KU) Registrar Prof. Dr. Subodh Sharma, and George Mason University (GMU) Provost Dr. David S. Wu, on behalf of their respective institutions, were exchanged on August 26, 2019 at KUSMS premises in Dhulikhel, Kavre in the presence of high level officials from the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal, and International Development Institute in Washington, D.C., U.S.A., and faculty and officials from GMU, and KU.

Through this MOU, KU and GMU agree to explore the possibility of collaborative endeavors in, but not limited to, the following areas: 1) Promote institutional exchange by inviting faculty and graduate students of the other party to participate in a variety of teaching, learning, or research activities, and professional development; 2) Organize symposia, conferences, short courses, and meetings; 3) Leverage and share existing physical resources to carry out collaborative research and programming; 4) Exchange information pertaining to developments in curriculum design, teaching and learning, student development, and research at each institution; and 5) Explore degree opportunities that would enable KU students to earn a GMU academic degree, including degrees at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels.

George Mason University is Virginia’s largest public research university, and ranked among the top 200 research universities in the world.
