Message from the Registrar

On behalf of administration, faculty and staff of Kathmandu University (KU), I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all as members of KU family.

Kathmandu University has commemorated its 25th years of establishment (1991-2016). The University, which started its first academic program from School of Science on a rented building in Kathmandu, had only a very few faculty members and students.  We started with limited resources and the research projects were beyond our imagination. Yet we believed strongly in quality rather than quantity. We all were geared towards not only quality of teaching but in finding a happy balance between work, friends and family.  Quality is never an accident. The far-sighted visionary leadership of the founding members, sincere effort of every faculty member, unquestionable support from staff and the trust among us have encouraged the students to achieve brilliance in their chosen fields of study.

Kathmandu University has now carved a niche of its own in the academia worldwide. Our future directions will be towards best practices in teaching and learning processes through state-of-the art infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories. In order to be at par with world standard, qualified and highly experienced faculty members with extraordinary passion and commitment has no alternatives. A homely environment in the campus and in the community for the students, hygienic food and other on-campus services such as library, sports, physical fitness facilities etc. offering opportunities for students to show their talents shall remain as our commitments.

We look forward to working with you and wish you all a rewarding and successful academic year!
